More Information

The Term “model release” is widely used in the arts community but is seldom defined and not always clearly understood. A release is an agreement or contract, often just a simple one-page form that is meant to release an artist from legal liabilities.

The purpose of a model release is to clearly define the terms of the relationship between the model and the artist in order to avoid misunderstandings and minimize the possibility of lawsuits. The release functions as a license. A license gives someone the right to do something that they may not normally be allowed to do without such consent. Licenses are contracts, and the considerations involved in contracts and the advantages of written contracts are all-important when considering a release.

We respectfully request that every client complete a release licensing us to utilize the images created for the promotion of k2prostudio.com as we grow our business.

In return, k2prostudio.com will grant each client a creative commons license for the non-commercial use on any images that they would like to purchase at the end of the session. These licenses will cost $10 per photograph. Occasionally a client will request the full commercial rights to a particular photo. In these instances a price will be agreed upon to release the full copyright and license to the client rendering the model release null and void for that particular image.

To make this easy, all you need to do is fill out the following information to generate a release and have it emailed directly to you. The following form is for that have not yet reached the age of 18. For adult models over 18 years old, please use this form.
